As with any industrial unit the general look of reception is always last on the priority list. The Seagate Technology’s plant located in Derry had been fitted out with general architectural tiling and had painted walls in a non–descript colour.
Audrey Gaffney Associates were asked to create a reception lobby in keeping with the Seagate brand, impressing clients on arrival. We set about creating a concept that worked visually and was also space aware. We tendered the building works and joinery packages, producing all drawings, specifications and the necessary documents required.
The end result is a bright, modern and sleek foyer. The use of teal and lime colours keeps the environment fresh and crisp. Walnut timber beams overhead leads you directly to the curved reception desk, where you can check in with security over a desk of walnut and white corian. The Seagate Technology’s logo sits proud on the sea–blue background washed with hidden warm lighting. A floating wall of walnut panelling creates a display cabinet for product in an otherwise unused area. Here we’ve used opal glass and LED panel light fittings to create a non–glare soft lit base perfect to display any product to its best .
